Bodrum Deniz Müzesi Jun 10, 2017
In the Bodrum Sea Museum is a permanent exhibiton of models of the boats that were used for sponge diving, fishing and transportation, is a true heaven for those who love miniature models and boats. The upper floor features Turkey's largest seashell collection of numerous marine crustaceans with distinct characteristics living in world's prominent seas. The collection attracts not only local tourists but also foreign visitors and enthusiasts from many countries. The seashell collection takes visitors on a unique journey both with its scientific structure and its visual richness. With a help of conchology that studies marine crustaceans, these mysterous creatures of the nature are systematically classified.

Seashells are sometimes food souces, sometimes currency substitution for money, or decorative objects. Some people have an oyster shell or a dried sea urchin in homes. While walking on a beach, many of us will pick them up from the sand and bring them home. Maybe seashells are irresistible because creatures lived inside of them. Seashells are primary elements in longing for the sea and dreams of sea, the jewels of the sea.
