Bodega Lazo 1809 Museo Ica Reviews
Pisco Tasting @ old pisco/wine yard in Ica - Bodega Lazo Feb 16, 2008
Ica is located south of Lima and it's famous because of the wine (which is not that good) but most of all because of the Pisco - our national liquor. It is also made of grapes, similar to a brandy or grappa.
So, when you are in Ica, it is a Must to visit one of the Pisco producers. There are big wineyards, modern and offer tours. But there are also smaller places which are more like familiar business and still keep the charm from former ages. This last one is the case of this place, which is also considered a museum founded in 1809.
The tour starts with a pisco tasting. They even teach you how to taste pisco properly, hehe. Also you will try some of their wine and cachina, which is like a young wine.
There is a store where you can buy their products, which are very cheap. If you are hungry, there is a small restaurant serving local dishes. Eating something is a good idea, since after tasting so much pisco you might need something solid in your stomach, haha.
This might not be the best and most glamorous place, but it's cozy and charming. Also the people working here are friendly.
A tip: Pisco is strong! Drink it slowly and do not try to keep up with the workers here...
