Bochum, the green City right in the Middle of the Ruhr area and well known in Germany by Herbert Grönemeyer's Song "Bochum".

From the Beginning of the 20th Century until the 1980's Bochum had a large number of Coal Mines and was a target in WWII for British and American Bombers.

The City has the famous "Bermuda Triangle", a Place with lots of Bars, Cafes, Food Courts and Cinemas.

With 4 Universities and over 60.000 Students, Bochum is also known as the Student-City in the Ruhr Area.
Increasingly, the Universities and the Technology Centres are putting their stamp on the location. And where once the Working-Men's Clubs used to have a monopoly on Communication, Students, Actors and all kinds of innovators now meet in Rock-Cafés, Bistros and Discos. Sweat is more or less "out" and brain power is "in".

Bochum has a large Rock Undergroundscene, and every Year in June or July the second largest "free and outside"-Festival named "Bochum total" in Europe.
