I worked for the Resort for two years. The Resort is very expensive, but definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. Part of the Resort is on the Intracoastal Waterway (giving many rooms nice views) and part of the Resort is on the Atlantic Ocean (giving many rooms fantastic views and direct beach access.) Many of the rooms have views of walls or parking lots, so if views are important to you you will pay more. When you first walk into the Resort you have access to their complimentary keylime drink, which is delicious...try some! Most of the employees I met were very well trained, good at their job and worked very hard to live up to high standards for the guests. Their Spa is huge. The Spa itself has its own pool with soothing music playing under the water and a waterfall, multiple baths for various types of treatments, and all the amenities other spas would have. I never played tennis there, and I can't play golf, so I'll leave someone else to review those amenities! :) The Resort has a Marina, so you could dock your boat there if you don't feel like driving or sleeping in one of their rooms. hehe. They also have babysitters and kids activities so the parents can have the day to themselves. Of course, lets not forget their private beach. Gasp. All of the restaurants that I ate at were, at the time, fantastic. One restaurant was at the top of a 27 story tower, which is, by far, the tallest building in the city of Boca Raton. During the day half of the window (which panoramas the city to the entire restaurant) is intercoastal and ocean waters for as far as the eye can see. Inside the original part of the Resort is all antique furniture and detailed, hand-crafted architecture. It is said that the original builder, Addison Mizner, was a tad (just a tad?) eccentric and he kept a tame monkey with him at all times, thus the monkey theme: you'll understand when you get there. Also, it is said that the woman who was his life partner died at the Resort, so there are stories of a ghost. Course, any building as old as this one (1926) is bound to have a ghost or two, right? The Resort also caters to Conventions and has a beautiful convention hall. A few miles from the Resort is their Country Club. The Club has its own Wedding Planner and she takes care of everything as far as the ceremony location and the reception and the food and the service. What made the Resort so convenient was that the Resort has its own complementary shuttle bus system from the Club to the Resort to the Beach. You could take a boat from the Resort to the Beach, or the Beach is close enough to walk if you're feeling adventurous. The Resort is, and admittedly I'm prejudiced, fantastic and elegant and a definite must to experience, but be prepared to pay for this wonderful experience. No one is allowed access onto the Resort without a room reservation or being a Club Member, so no day excursions to see the beauty and the antiques. However, if you find yourself in the area and want to treat your significant other to an elegant weekend, or treat your mother to a bed and spa package, this is definitely the place. I can't wait to come up with an excuse to go back to FL and stay at the Resort. Hope your experience is a good one!
