Boat On Lysfjorden
Boat On Lysfjorden Stavanger Reviews
Stavanger, Norway Feb 05, 2015
Coming into Stavanger Norway on our cruiseship Prinsendam we were looking forward to seeing Lysefjord and Pulput Rock. There was a good independant boat ride to Lysefjord and Pulpit Rock for lots of NOK, but the Prinsendam scheduled to take us through Lysefjord and see Pulpit Rock in the late afternoon departure.
It was raining hard all day so the private excursion of Lysefjord was out regardless. We donned our heavy raingear and went into Stavenger. In spite of the rain we enjoyed our port of call, the friendly people, the nice clean quaint buildings and the free unlimited internet with the purchase of one cup of cappuccino. After a walk-a-round we returned to the Prinsendam and with high hopes of Lysefjord departure as the rain was letting up.
As we departed we had some light rain and with our raingear we were ready for Lysefjord. Something strange as we left, we saw no large cliffs of Lysefjord and only a plain short sided fjord. Without even an official announcement we found the Prinsendam was not taking us through Lysefjord as promised on ships contract, and was taking us through a plain shorter way out. We then argued with the Prinsendam custimer service and cancilled all of our mandatory tipping for the entire cruise. We did tip our cabin boy.
We will never again take a Holland America cruise.
