My friend and I decided to check out the Thursday night improv jam sessions at the Blues on Grand, and we were definitely NOT disappointed. It is definitely one of the best DIVE bars I have had the fortune of finding! It brings diverse backgrounds, people, and music style to the table. I didn't know what to expect in terms of the music, but the musicians are incredible! It's quality all-around! If you like to dance, listen to exceptional jazz, and forget about being in Des Moines, this is the place for you! It made me want to form my own band just so that I could be part of the experience:)
