BlueBay Villas Doradas Hotel Puerto Plata

Blue Bay is the best hotel I've ever stayed in!
First of all: it's only a 15min. drive from the airport. And when you enter the gate (with a guard all the time) you are blown away by its beauty. We entered the hotel in the evening so everything was lightened around the white buildings. Blue Bay doesn't have one whole hotel with all the rooms but different buildings al around the place. When you arrive you'll get a nice welcome from a friendly staff member. He'll explain you how everything works etc.

The rooms are big. We had a room with 2 double beds, a pretty good size bathroom, a closet and a balcony. Our room was between the spa, the beach and swimming pool.
They clean your room every day and you get fresh towels. The towels by the pool/beach are also free as are the chairs on the beach.

The animation was excellent! We had fun all day long! We didn't want to leave the hotel because it was so much fun. We played volleybal, water games, competitions by the pool and on the beach, you get different types of lessons (sushi lesson, making cocktails, ...) And every night there is a show like Dominican Night, Water ballet,... Fun for young and old! :-) That's another advantage: no children! My boyfriend an I were the children :-) (age 25 and 23) But it wasn't a place for retired people... There was fun for everyone!

The hotel lays in a bay which is really nice to walk in or snorkel. You can find different types of things to do there. Like deep sea fishing, banana boat, party boat(boat where you can drink, sing karaoke, slide down into the water, and just party!!)

The meals are also a great variaty of food from around the world. They even had Belgian food :-) Fries, fish, meat, pasta,... and a lot of desserts! The also had a theme every night so you wouldn't get bored. And if you want to..., wich I doubt, you could go to one of 3 restaurants of Blue Bay (located in the complex): the grill restaurant, the fish restaurant or/and the japanese one. The first two are to be found on the beach (with sea views).

There are a lot of things to do in the area but I highly recommend Ocean World. You can swim with sharks, dolphins, sting rays (without their sting), sea lions,... I can tell you: I'll never forget that day!
Second of all: go to paradise island. When you arrive you'll know why they call it like that!
The mall is not even a 5 min walk from the hotel.
