Blue Sky Western Bar & Restaurant

Of the many, many bars and restaurants in Nanjing, Blue Sky is by far the best.
It has the right combination of good music, friendly, english speaking waitresses, the food is great and reasonably priced. Probably the coldest beer in Nanjing, everything from draught Guinness, Aussie beers, German beers, and draught Carlsberg.
When you first go into Blue Sky, you don't have that nervous, hesitant feeling of going into a new place. There is someone to welcome you at the door, and show you to the bar or a table, they will ask if they can get you something, drink or food.
The music was a really good mix of modern pop and older stuff, but everyone knew all the music, and it was at just the right volume that you could still speak to the person beside you.
I have to say, I was also surprised at the prices. Nanjing is not the cheapest place in the world, and I was expecting to pay a lot more for both the beer and the food.
They tell me they have chinese chefs, that have been there for many years and have been trained by westerners. You could tell, the food was excellent.
Apparently the bar is owned by an Australian husband and wife team, and it was managed by a westerner.
Once you find somewhere like this, you don't really want to venture anywhere else.
