Cheap paint thin linoleom in longe/kitchen/reception Is a warning for whats to come Feb 22, 2009
The staff seem oblivious as to what it is they do apart from gathering the money in.No cooking after 8 is a bit fascist but the well worn mattresses ,not sprung means you can actually feel the cold of the matal through it, i could go on and on but you've already got the drift.

Hostel in Glasgow Jan 02, 2008
The look on my friend's face when she walked into the dormer at the Bluesky hostel was priceless. She had never stayed in a hostel before, and was completely surprised to see 22 beds full of sleeping bodies. We'd arrived in the middle of the night, and everyone was already asleep. Someone was in the bed assigned to me which created a temporary problem, but after that, we got settled and went to sleep. (There were no lockers or safes in which to store your belongings, so you kinda had to hope no one robbed you while you were gone or sleeping!)

The place was very noisy (which could have been the inconsideration of the guests) and the staff weren't particularly friendly. Of course there were the usual amenities; kitchen, bathrooms, etc, but the showers were few and inconveniently located.

Internet was free, but there was no printer available; the staff on duty wouldn't even let us pay to use hers, so we weren't able to print confirmation of purchased tickets for buses, etc.

If you're looking to bunk for just a night or two, this place is fine; my friend and I didn't spend much time there. It was somewhat far from Glasgow Center (we didn't mind walking, but if the weather is bad, well...), and nearing a shady part of town. It was nice that everything was open all night though; no curfew to worry about. And if you're looking to rough it in a hostel like you hear about in stories from your parents' travels in the 70s, this one's for you.

(Oh, you have to be between 18 and 35 to stay there...)
Cheerful graffiti in the hostel.

Very cheap youthhostel wich is located very close to the citycentre. I think they have 2 hostels in Glasgow. The facilities are basic but it's everything u need so thats perfect! Breakfast is included and there are computers in the basement where u can use the internet for free. The staff is very friendly and the location is just perfect. It's really close to everything :) I had a great time there! It is located in the centre of Glasgows West End. Just minutes walk from the vibrant Byres road where you will find a wealth of bars, shops, cafe's, restaurants and clubs. All rooms with showers and toilets!!

private room: 52.8 EUR

room for forighn person: 15.28 EUR
