Blue Moon Apartments Valencia Reviews
Good Location In City Centre Nov 02, 2010
Having been to Valencia before,I knew where I was wanting to stay, and picked the Blue Moon Apartments primarily for the location.
Didn't book that far in advance and cost me £56 for the night.I quite like having an apartment as it gives you a bit more freedom.
First though you have to pick up the keys from the Indigo Youth Hostel on the Calle De Guillen De Castro. Doors were locked and it took the guy a bit of time to get down from the reception to the front door.Check in is supposed to be 2pm, but I was an hour early and they were fine with that.
Checked in and was given keys and a detailed map to get to the apartment, further up the street and then cutting through the Torres De Quart and and along the Calle Quart that runs between the towers and the Plaza De La Virgen.Took a good ten minutes walking, and the apartments are on one of the side streets off it.
My apartment was on the fourth floor, and at the back of the enterance hall there is a small lift. Took the lift up and it stopped at the 4th floor and it took a while to dawn on me that the doors hadn't opened, the side had :-O
Room was a decent size, with a double bed, a settee,TV and table and chairs in the kitchen area. Kitchen had just about everything, fridge/freezer,microwave, kettle and loads of utensils.
Toilet was a reasonable size and had a shower in it, and like the rest of the apartment was spotlessly clean.
On the way out I met what appeared to be a concierge, and wondered why I had had to go to the Indigo to pick up the keys. On departure, check out is at 11am, there is a drop off box to leave the keys, so you don't have to traipse round to the Indigo again. Next to the drop off box, in the enterance hall, there is a table with a lot of information leaflets available if you are looking for things to pass the time in Valencia.
Location is the best part of staying here, and it is easy to find your way back, I managed in the early hours of the morning, by heading for the cathedral, and the Plaza De La Virgen is just behind that.
My one complaint was that the TV only had Spanish channels. Normally when you get satellite, you'll get CNN International or BBC World, but it had CNN Espanol. I ended up at 2am, sitting with a couple of beers watching the only English channel available..... Disney :D (and even that had LARGE Spanish subtitles on it).
Would I stay there again ? - Yes
