Blue House Hostel Quito Reviews
Youth hostel in new centre Quito May 08, 2009
We stayed in the Blue House Hostel in Quito for only one night. It's a typicall place where a lot of yougsters and backpackers will stay. When we arrived there, guests were having a water fight. Acting like little children. We decided to stay at a dormroom for four people. Fortunately for us there was another couple in the room who just came back from a few days vulcano hiking, the guy felt really misserable because of the heights they have been to. The hostel is in kind of a villa with high ceilings.
There were clean showers with hot water. In the morning we could have some simple breakfast in the kitchen downstairs. Downstairs was also the reception with kind of a bar and an area where you could hang, play some games or check your e-mail on a computer.
The location was in the "new town" of Quito, the Mariscal Sucre neighbourhood. It's a modern part of the city where a lot of tourists stay in hostels and hotels, with plenty of restaurants and bars. In the night it still can be a little bit dodgy, but way safer than the old town.
Unfortunately I didn't took pictures of the hostel. But you can see more on the website.
