Blue Fig Café Reviews
Delightful combination of tastes Apr 22, 2007
The Blue Fig Café is an interesting oddity. Coffee house, student hangout, posh yuppie joint, all of the above really.
One of the few places where you can get a traditional sheesha *and* a metropolitan alcoholic cocktail. The place has a beautifully designed interior, a mix between classical British imperialistic and lounge. It's a great place for a cup of coffee, a milk shake or a cocktail, but an even greater place for food. Their kitchen specialises in world fusion food, offering tantalising combinations of different international cuisine. What about Tuna Cheese balls? Dough wrapped spinach kebab? Cajun spiced fried prawns? Pizze stir fry? Banana mousse with fig bread? Kyoto Green Tea and Mint Crème Brulée? You name it, this and many more original dishes can be ordered at the Blue Fig. There are several differnet outlets throughout Amman. The original one being in Abdoun, but there are also smaller joints at the airport, at the Jordan University, Al Ahlia, the Mecca Mall and the City Mall. Part of the Middle East 2007 travel blog |

For dinner we went to the recommended Blue Fig Café, which is a long way outside of the central Amman, in one of the 'better' neighbourhoods of the city. The parking was filled with BMW, Mercedes and Porsche, the people around us in the restaurant were smoking big Cuban cigars and conversations… Day 18: enough of Amman! |
