Great party hotel Mar 07, 2014
It was my first visit at Blooms Hotel but it will not be my last. Don’t expect something fancy because it is absolutely not, it is a pretty average hotel with small rooms and very basic interior, but the hotel has the best location is you want to live close to the Temple Bar area and it’s intense and lively nightlife.

We arrived at the hotel straight from the airport and we were hitting town as soon as we arrived. They found our booking straight away and we were given a hotel room on the 4th floor. The room was small with two single beds and a small desk with a chair. There was a window overlooking the flipside of the Irish bank. The bathroom was fair in size with a well working shower corner.

The hotel was lively with people in the halls and lots of friends visiting each other in the rooms. The main feature was the lively pub on the ground floor next to the reception. The bar was named The VAT House and it was a great place to spend your time. The bar featured live music every evening and the artists playing there were quite good. The bar has also a good selection of beers and whisky. The bar closes at 2 am except for residents who are allowed to stay there until 4 am. Beneath the hotel there is a nightclub where you as hotel resident can get in for free.

Interesting you noted: "There was a window overlooking the flipside of the Irish bank." Planning a heist?

Good hotel and an excellent location Nov 18, 2014
Stayed here for a weekend in October 2014 with a friend. The receptionist was fantastic and so welcoming - as was all the staff we dealt with. On arrival we were given a voucher for a free drink at the bar which was a nice touch.

The room was large with a double and a single bed, both beds were comfortable and there were enough towels.

The location of the hotel is perfect, you don't have to walk more then a few minutes to find some great bars - you can even start the evening in the bar joining the hotel. The bar has bands etc playing but as we didn't get back until the early hours each morning I have no idea if the noise would keep you up.

We're heading back to Dublin next year and are planning on staying here again.

Simple rooms but nice hotel! Apr 03, 2012
We should up too early and couldn't check it right away, but they let us store our bags and have access to them if we needed to get anything from them, so that was a good start for me! The hotel is a nice looking hotel for sure, the room was simple, but more than enough for partying for one night in Dublin. It was a very nice bar attached to it, called The Vat House, seemed like pretty standard prices, not overly expensive or super cheap... It'd also had free WiFi which is nice if you don't have a phone.

The rooms were good, the beds were small, for me, but comfortable. There was enough room for the two of us ( in the room, not the beds ) The bathroom was a good size, pretty nice and clean which is a big plus to me!

Blooms Hotel is located in a great spot if you're wanting to be close to the Temple Bar area. You can find anything you'll need or want within a short walks time, from bars/pubs and clubs to food and shopping.

Blooms Hotel - Bring on the Drunks Apr 11, 2010
So after traveling through Ireland for a few days, we were happy to get rid of the rental car and finally have a home base in Dublin. Blooms Hotel is located in the Temple Bar District which is happening and very central. We knew when we booked this hotel that it was in a party area and though I am a light sleeper, we were up high enough where we thought the noise level wouldn’t hit us. We were wrong! Even though it was loud until around 4:30AM we still were able to get some sleep with the help of earplugs. Look, we knew what we were getting into when we read the reviews so it wasn’t a big deal. That and for at least one night we were one of those people on the street, so we understood.

The hotel rooms are a little small and unfortunately have a little wear and tear. They are also a bit outdated as the TV was from the 1980’s and the décor appeared to be, too. We asked for non smoking, but there was an ashtray in the room though it didn’t smell. Odd. The bathrooms needed some work as they were stained in places, especially the shower which made me nervous to go into. You use showers to get clean.

The lobby was very nice and the staff was, as well. We were there early and they held our luggage until we could check in. They were very helpful. Also, when you stay at the hotel you get a pass to go into the nightclub under the hotel. The club was interesting, but we made the most of it and met up with some locals and had a great time, though when one of them claimed he played for the Green Bay Packers (he was Irish and 21) we knew that it was time to go. That and it was 4:00AM.

Note to the women, Temple Bar can get a little crazy at night, especially when people get drinks in them, the guys in the club were cool, but on the streets, we had some problems and a couple separate people tried to followed us back to the hotel. We were dressed in a coat, btw so there was nothing to see. There is a person manning the door at night and he saw that we were having problems and he got rid of the offenders before they could hit the door. That was a relief and much appreciated as they are probably used to it. Also, a plus to any hotel for the staff to be aware.

As long as you know what you are getting into, this hotel is not bad even though it is run down and needs a little maintenance. The price was very good and the location can’t be beat. Though, if you hate the sound of drunks all night, this is not the place for you.
