Bloemfontein, settled in the heart of South Africa, in th Free state. Bloemfontein is rich with history from the Anglo Boer war and the historic buildings are there to prove it.
If traveling to Bloemfontein(Bloem, as the locals call it)don't expect major tourist attractions, just enjoy the rich history and buildings, or go to the local pub and have a drink with the heart warming locals. Then there is Naval Hill, which is a small wildlife reserve on a rather big hill in the centre of the city, the reserve also has a observatory, one of the biggest in the country.
The Free state and more particular, Bloem is known for their hospitality and will always make you feel at home. Also just watch out for the "poor" neighborhoods (as in any city).
