Best scuba diving trip! Jul 05, 2013
Beautiful dive sites, perfect weather and water conditions, high visibility underwater, delicious food and a week long trip on a pirate boat. Blackbeard's Cruises Liveaboard trip is definitely recommended for anyone who loves to scuba dive! You will not find a better deal at $939 for 18 dives! The crew is very friendly and helpful; they will fill your tanks, help you up the ladder after your dive and will inform you of the best diving spots and features of each dive. You will get to dive in the best spots in the Exumas Marine Park. A shark feeding dive is also included in this trip which you would normally pay $100-150 extra with any other dive operator. This dive is always exciting whether you've done 1 or 100. I had the opportunity to dive with 15 Caribbean reef sharks on this trip which was an amazing experience. After the feeding is done, you are able to look around for shark teeth. I found 1 shark tooth and my sister found 3! They make for a good free souvenier. If you love scuba diving, be sure to check out Blackbeard's Cruises for a trip of a lifetime!

All Inclusive Dive Adventure Apr 01, 2011
Blackbeard's Cruises Liveaboard is a $940USD a week on all inclusive scuba diving travel vacations to the Bahamas Out Islands. Only thing you have to bring is your scuba gear, towels, bathing suits, 3mm wet suit and appetite)

The food they cook up in a kitchen that is no bigger then 4x6 is delicious; we had full turkey Thanksgiving dinner, pasta, hot soup and it goes on and on.

They offer variety of diving including shark dive (no chums in the water best dive experience I ever had and would do it again), walls, high speed drift dives including the Washing Machine (this was effortless dive and all you have to do is let the current do all the work for you), night dives where you get to see nocturnal animals and the beautiful coral reefs.

They have 3 main sailboats; Sea Explorer, Morning Star (which I was in) and Pirates Lady. They depart Nassau every Saturday for a week of liveaboard diving in the Islands of Exumas, Eleuthera and San Sal in Central Bahamas. They only have 5 crew members on board; one captain, one engineer, one cook, 2 dive masters and they are the friendliest people you'll ever meet. If you want to be the captain for a day and sail the boat, they will more then happy to teach you how!

You can expect visibility of 100 ft or greater with colorful fishes to see. They don’t have set itinerary – they go where conditions and weather are the best to offer divers safe fun dive adventure.

For non-divers, this is a great trip as well. We had a day where we took a dingy to Iguana Island and we went snorkeling and spear fishing for dinner.

Drawback will be that you only get 30min in total for fresh water shower. When you have 22 divers (is max capacity per sail boat) in one boat, 30 min isn’t much. Our group didn’t bath for a week till we got back to shore and if you get motion sickness, then, I don’t recommend this trip for you.

Unique way to see the Bahamas Sep 04, 2011
Blackbeard Cruises is a liveaboard dive cruise. If you are looking for a typical cruise, this isn't it. If you are a diver this will offer a lot of opportunities to get underwater. It is a full week of diving about 3-4 times per day. There is no set itinerary for the week and because of this, they take you to the dive sites that have the calmest seas and best visibility.

The crew was fantastic. They are very accomodating and take care of everything so that you can kick back and relax. They prepare all your meals and snack for between dives, fill your tanks, and offer a lot of knowledge about the dive sites. They do a dive briefing before each dive to orient you to the site and are great about selecting dive sites. They offer a shark dive, several night dives, and the washing machine (a real rush of a drift dive that whips you around and tosses you about as the tide comes in).

The bunks are pretty small and you have to keep all of your clothing in the bunk with you (you keep all your dive gear on deck and ready to go), so be smart about what you bring and don't pack things you don't need. The shower and head are small but clean. If you are looking for luxury, you will find Blackbeard lacking. Their goal isn't luxury. It is adventure and to get you the best deal for a liveaboard, and they totally do!

**Tip for getting into a wet suit on a rolling sailboat - Bring a plastic grocery bag with you. Slip it over you feet or hands when getting that appendage through your wet suit. Your foot or hand with slip right through. No more wriggling into wetsuits!**
