Black Swan Hostel Dec 12, 2016
Black Swan Hostel is the one of the hostels that I can fully recommend as the top three hostels that I have ever been to… It is well organized and run, has ample space, great common areas, fantastic kitchen and it is almost a spit away from the cathedral/in the center of the town.

Black Swan in Seville is a part of the chain that has hostels around the Europe, but standardizing the offer did not throw away the character and fun. It is located very centrally and it is easy to reach both bus stations and rail. Most of the attractions are at walking distance and there is so much good food around, that you won’t know how to fit it all in your stomach.

I loved the place as soon as I got in. The door is automatic and it opens from the reception (reception looks at the door so security is pretty good). The whole entrance floor is made into living space and kitchen that I would love to have in my own place. Kitchen features large “island” that doubles for the breakfast table, cooking school and chill out area… There are all necessary tools in the kitchen for you to make good meal or to enjoy some meal made by the staff. Breakfast is included, but do not satisfy yourself with cereal and some jam in the morning. Go outside of the hostel and enjoy fantastic Seville breakfast… It is cheap and good.

Building has 3 or 4 floors and everything is designed and made by the hostel. I mean, all bathrooms are purposely fit for hostel crowd, bunk beds are custom made, walls and stairs are custom covered, custom furniture… All details are taken care of and to the highest quality level.

So, bedrooms… I was in 6 bed dorm that has very solid doors that are opened by the card. Beds are made into kind of cubicles with LOTS of space. They are all made of huge metal pipes and solid wood, very modern and beautiful. Every person has its own locker and you do not need a lock because locks on this lockers are set by you and you are the only one that knows the code. Bathrooms are also very modern, everything works and there is lots of showers and sinks, very nicely designed and very convenient. There is also a washer and dryer if you need to clean your stuff.

Internet is pretty good all over the place. There is a rooftop that you can get to any time you like and enjoy the rooftops of the city. Great place for sunrises.

There are free tours of the city that you can join every day from the reception. Those tours are in most of Spanish cities and they are a bit too cattle herding as far as I am concerned. Every other day there is a cooking class and they prepare huge paella for everyone that joins the class. It is fun to join that class, especially when you are allowed to bring your own vine and enjoy it while cooking heheheh
