I have reviewed this chain restaurant for the Tulare location but to really tell the whole story is to try it at another location. We had the chance in Redding. Again the exterior is like a log cabin in nature with Black bears carved and painted into the logs. Inside, again the logs are visible and bear items abound. You can purchase t-shirts, mugs, and other “cute” items. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food is wonderful. But be prepared for the LARGE portions. Again, they are LARGE portions. The prices are no higher than other family restaurants. I will also remind you that they have the most scrumtious deserts around, especially their cobblers, which are designed for at least two people. Yeah, if you are really hungry you might “polish” one off by yourself. I’ll say it for a second time, if you are looking for a good place to eat, check out Black Bear Diner.
