DAY 1-Friday June 22, 2007-Bismarck
Well I worked till 9:30am this day and then got home, finished packing last minute things and then we were off to the airport. I was really nervous/excited because I've only flown once and that was at least 10 years ago!! Derrick (my boyfriend) has also only flown once before and that's been probably at least 5 years ago, so we were excited!! Plus this was our first big trip together. We got the airport and checked in pretty quickly ...

After all the driving and excitement yesterday with the buffalo, we slept in this morning and then drove around Bismarck to get familiar with the town. I had no idea that North Dakota was such an amazing place. The badlands to the west are world-class scenery (that I really hadn’t heard much about for some reason) and Bismarck is a very nice town full of parks and walking paths along the river. There are some nice houses on the water along the river south of town but every...

Almost home, we drove through North Dakota, saw the badlands, ate at a great restaurant in Bismark (Pirogues downtown) which featured walley three ways and an assortment of other local foods. We also got to see the North Dakota state capitol, which is the least capitol looking building I have every seen, except some local DMVs, which it resembles. But North Dakota held some other pleasures, like the lovely wedding dress I saw in downtown Bismark.

So Monday morning we got up, packed up and checked out of our hot hotel room. We started on our journey back home.
Once again a pretty boring drive and I thought we'd never make it back to Fargo. We stopped quickly at Little Caesars for some pizza and breadsticks and then got gas and left for home once again.
Still a boring drive home but all in all it was one of the best vacations we took. We didn't fight at all (which is kinda rare on vacations) we did a lot of spontane...

It started innocently enough; I visited Juneau, Alaska in June 1993 and explored the State Capitol building. A few months later, It was Montgomery, Alabama's. In the course of time, it became a hobby. Near the end it became a bit of an obsession. Then, in August of 2006, I visited my 50th US State Capitol building in Pierre, SD. (Yeh!)
Yes, I know, I'm a geography nerd....
