Enjoying Miami Biscayne Bay in a sightseeing cruise Aug 05, 2002
If you aren't sure what to do during the day in Miami area, but know you'd like to see the bay. I'd recommend you to do some sightseeing, but in a cruise ;)

Just sit and relax as they would take you on a bilingual narrated sightseeing cruise along scenic Biscayne Bay. You'd see Miami's coastal sites; including downtown Miami skyline, Port of Miami, Brickell Key, Fisher Island and the “Millionaire's Row”, where all the rich and famous live.

There are tour operators over there. We took the Island Cruise Queen. The tour doesn't last too long, just 90min. Enough time to enjoy it. Visit their web for further details: http://www.islandqueencruises.com/

People start lining up an hour or more ahead of time, but it's pointless. On board, people get up and move around anyway. Plus you can skip the seats and head for the front of the boat (upper or lower level) and just lean against the railing - you get a better view that way because there is nothing over your head.

You will departure and arrive to Bayside, which is a nice area where you'd find restaurants and shops for later ;)

The ranger, a lovely young woman named Astrid, was a bit late, but we took off for our adventure on Biscayne Bay.  There were only seven passengers all together. The boat has a huge diesel engine and is very loud.  Astrid wore ear protection.  She is on a loud boat of one sort or another almost every day and must protect her hearing… Boating on Biscayne Bay

Once there, I went to the Bayside Marketplace, which was an outdoor shopping mall along Biscayne Bay. I would eat brunch there, as I looked out to the marina. Then I walked around the shopping mall for a bit. I can remember visiting here back in 2001, and thought it was a nice place. Then I decided to ride the Metromover… Going Around South Florida

This effect is doubled by the reflections in the still waters of the Bay of Biscayne.  Tonight, however, the water was not still, so it looked as though the distant buildings were floating in the sky.  Magic!  Baba prepared a marvelous Indian dinner.  They have made us feel completely at home.  They have… Outer Space to Upper Space
