Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is located in the city centre of Birmingham, so it's really easy to reach. It's really simple to find as it's sign posted through-out the city.
The Museum and Art Gallery is free entry, though some exhibitions do have an admission fee. Events and exhibitions can be found on the website which is regularly updated. Opened in 1885, it's the largest local authority museum service in England. The collections cover fine art and applied arts, archaelogy and ethnography, natural history, social history. The Museum has the largest collection of Pre-Raphaelite works in the world, as well as Old Masters and Impressionists. There are over 500,000 objects in the collections, dating from 200,000 years ago to the present day, and originating from each of the continents. I would highly recommend visiting Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. There is so much to do and see with something to suit everybody. |
