Birdsong Gallery Pirongia Reviews
Magnificent inspiration Dec 20, 2010
Birdsong Gallery, located on Franklin Street and face to face with Mt Pirongia, is one of the gems Pirongia village has to offer to visitors.
The gallery's name is a real aptronym since you can enjoy the clearly increasing and thriving avifauna in Pirongia Forest Park from this spot. Besides the gallery's offer is as colourful and varied as birdlife on Mt Pirongia and its surroundings.
This gallery is a treasure box filled with beautiful and original New Zealand art and craft mostly made by local artists.
If you're looking for an extraordinary souvenir or gift Birdsong Gallery is the perfectly inspiring place. The gallery's offer is widely ranged: from handmade jewelleries to embroidered postcards, from handbags made of jeans and sewed with patches and buttons to gorgeous paintings, from woollen accessories to card games.
I suppose it's simply a very charming little place to stop by for a bit of typical Kiwiana inspiration and marvelling.
As the artworks and most of those pretty neat gifts are handmade the purchase isn't always very cheap, but whenever you've picked your favourite souvenir you can be sure of having chosen an extremely authentic piece of physical New Zealand memory.
