Billa Praterstern - Groceries on Sunday? Mar 02, 2008
The Billa at Praterstern is one of two supermarkets which are allowed to open everyday in Vienna. There is a second one at Franz Josephs-Bahnhof but the one at Praterstern is easier to reach. From fresh meat to fresh baked bred you will find everything you need there.

Billa is the second biggest supermarket chain in Austria (where the market sized to Spar is less than a percentage).

Please note, these opening times are only for the branch at Praterstern station, the other Billa stations won't be open the same times:

Monday - Sunday: 06:00 - 21:00

Keep in mind Austria has shorter opening hours than some other countries, on Sundays only a few (search for Billa on this side) have open.

Billa is a short version of "Billiger Laden" meaning cheap store - there were it 50 years ago, no they are the most expensive :-)
