Bikan District Kurashiki Reviews
Nice area to walk along canals and old warehouses Jul 21, 2000
The Bikan District is a part of Kurashiki where canals and storage houses were build during the Edo period to ship and store rice. It was stored here temporarily, before being transported further to Osaka and Edo (Tokyo).
The tour company I had booked my Japan trip with, had asked the tourguide to take us to Kurashiki and inspect for them if the place was a nice location to take up in the next tour of Japan.
We walked around the city for an hour or 2, walking along the canals, crossing some bridges and seeing the old storage houses. I did enjoyed walking there. The place was really peaceful and calm and the scenery beautiful. Too bad the time was too short to stay longer, but hopefully I can visit it another time to see more of this place.
Part of the list What to see and do in Japan
