Big Sur River Inn Restaurant Reviews

The best thing about the restaurant at the Big Sur River Inn (you can get a room there, too) is the atmosphere of the location. Out in back, there's the great little spot on the river, where they've set up big comfy wicker chairs right in the water. It's incredibly pretty. Take off your shoes, wade out over the smooth rocks and just relax in the shade of big trees while you wait for your food; the waitress will watch your table.
You can choose to eat inside, or out on the patio. They have a pretty standard menu of burgers, sandwhiches and pastas, some with a local-themed emphasis or name. We split an appetizer plate of fried artichokes, steak tips and onion rings, as well as the Castroville Pasta plate (pesto with chicken and artichoke). FYI, Castroville is supposedly the artichoke capital of the world. They have festivals and junk and devoted to the plant.
