The place you want to be by the beach Jan 26, 2011
The name speaks for it. You'll find a great place to hang out, good food, interesting people since it attracts backpackers, travelers, volunteers. I was in Ghana for nearly three months and my weekends were spent at Millie's Backyard. Since a tab can be run, no need to carry money with you. You pay at the end of your stay. Beds are comfortable, rooms clean, bath facilities clean with plenty of water and a good choice of meals. There are many places to hang out. You can go upstairs in their new cocktail bar and watch people on the beach or simply watch the tide come and go. You order your food by 3 p.m. and it will be served by 7 p.m. It's a no brainer!

Great location for the price Apr 08, 2011
Stayed here after visiting the Kokrobite beach. The location was average in comparison to other tourist hotels in Ghana. Very cheap (~ 15 GHC/night). This location comes equipped with a mosquito net and a nice ceiling fan. Be prepared to take a bucket bath and use shared restroom facilities with a bucket flush.

Great location for drinking and a relaxation day!

Great place to hang out Apr 08, 2008
This beach "resort", which is really popular by English people, is a place you won't expect to see in Ghana.

The hotel is owned by and English lady and runs it well. The rooms are self contained, cheaper rooms share bathroom facilities and camping is also possible.

The restaurant serves great food. Daily a different menu. The bar is open from early morning until late at night.

Different trips and massages can be booked at the reception.

Party at Saturday night with live music.

Souvenirs shops at the beach. Keep an eye on your stuff and don't leave it unattended, since there are a lot of locals wandering around.

A really relax place to stay.

This was a fantastic place to stay for a relaxing weekend at the beach. The rooms were extremely affordable and very nice. My bill for 3 nights included the room, meals etc. only came out to $30 Canadian. There are shared toilets and bucket showers, but when everything else is amazing, who cares! The food served at the restaurant is amazing and the menu is always changing. Big Milly's "garden" is a gorgeous beach lined with coconut trees and is the perfect place to sit or lie down with a book. The atmosphere at Big Milly's is relaxed and lively at the same time, forcing you to forget about any worries you have for just a little bit, and enjoy your life as it is in the moment.
