We just came back from a 3 night stay at the Big 4 Whiters Holiday Villages in Lakes Entrance, and although it was winter our stay was very comfortable. We stayed in a Cottage which included all amentities, shower, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. I was very worried that it would be extremely cold at night time, but I found myself quite warm during our stay. I stayed with my husband and two children, 3 and 11 months. There weren't a lot of people (being winter), but there were a few families because of the school holidays. Every night they were showing a kids movie in their 'makeshift' cinema room. We didn't watch any movies...it was too cold to venture out at night! Our room was immaculate. Very clean and it also included TV's in both bedrooms (we had a two bedroom cottage). This helped us entertain the kids whilst we watched TV in the main room. The only downside for us was that we thought there was wireless broadband for free at the Village, but when we got there we had to join the Big4 group ($50) to gain access!! Although the rooms weren't 'brand new', they were well maintained. Our room even had kids toys and movies (which also helped us entertain our kids). A big plus for us was the electric blankets on all the beds! It kept us extra warm at night time. As far as heating goes I was a little dissapointed because I was told there were heaters in all the rooms, but in actual fact there was only one reverse cycle system in the main room, which meant we kept it on the whole time we were there. We also had to keep the bedroom doors open, otherwise the bedrooms would get cold very quickly (which did happen when we put the kids to bed). Other than that the holiday park would be a great place to visit in Summer as it has heaps of activities and a great playground. Also across the road there is a small minigolf and trampoline place which entertained my 3 year old everyday!
