Bicycling in London Aug 31, 2013
Londoners have a long history of using the bicycle. Each morning on commute it is now estimated at the bridge crossings there are more bikes than vehicles. In general the drivers are very aware of riders, particularly the bus drivers but do be cautious of the taxis. There are many bicycle routes both protected and integrated with road ways. Central london can be an experience, keep you eyes open and be courteous. Google maps GPS system has, at least for Androids, a great bicycle routing program. Folding bikes are allowed on public transports but check with the particular over ground or ferry to see what their rules are. TFL.gov.uk is the website for all the maps, details and rides you can imagine. You must ride Regent's canal! Barclay rental bikes are throughout the city and you can buy your own used one easily on www.gumtree.com
