Santiago National Library is a large and monumental building on the main street of Santiago, right under the Cerro Santa Lucia. It is very easy to spot this large neoclassical building and very easy to get here from the center or with the metro which stops right in the front. Library has couple floors and basement where you can see some paintings, statues, or dig in the books or maps that are displayed. They also have extensive poster collection. When I was passing through there was an exhibition of Pablo Neruda's work in the small gallery area and pathways. I love sold school reading rooms, but they also have modern cube filled with computers where you can check your mail.
