Bhubing Rajanives Palace Chiang Mai Reviews
Bhubing (or Phuping) Winter Palace Chiang Mai May 20, 2015
This serves as the “winter” residence for the Royal family during Dec to early Feb. We actually did not know that it was closed during Dec to early Feb. We were there mid Feb. However, there was construction works going on and some sections were blocked so we could only walk on certain section of the palace grounds. It was understood that the buildings itself are closed to public and only the palace gardens are opened to public. Still, it was worth our visit as the garden was huge and it is covered with colourful flowers growing everywhere.
Do note that woman are expected to be covered - no arms & legs are allowed to be shown. Wearing a shawl is not good enough, weird if you consider that we are just viewing gardens, not a temple or the palace building (which is closed to public anyway). I was made to wear a thai farmer blouse to cover my arms.
You should combine this trip with the tribal village & the Temple.
