I admit, I love rice noodles with their unobtrusive flavor and ability to go with every meat I choose to consume but I would not recommend getting the Pad Thai at Bhan Thai. Perhaps Wild Ginger ruined me but I find Bhan Thai's version a bit too sweet. I think it has something to do with the amount of tamarind paste they use, but whatever it is, I'm not a fan. I've gone there a couple of times just to make sure, and my opinion stands. I'd rather pay the few extra dollars and tip at Wild Ginger.

On a happier note, I do enjoy their spicy tomato shrimp soup. Not too spicy but enough of a kick to remind you that the ol' taste buds are alive and well. The sweet coconut mild they use in the soup helps to define the flavor of the spice and the acid of the tomato contrasts the sweet flavor of the shrimp. If you're going to go, get the soup and try something other than the Pad Thai.
