State Park facility just off the beach Oct 22, 2009
Beverly Beach state park sits just north of Newport, Oregon. The park itself sits to the east of Highway 101 but there is an easily accessible underpass trail to the beach. The beach is right next to the highway and is only accessible from the park during low tide. The park is nicely treed and you feel like you are in the forest. There are 128 tent sites, 53 hook up sites, 75 electrical sites, 21 yurts and a group camping area.

We were in the (far side of the) campground loop next to the highway and we could hear cars going over the bridge all night. Further back though I would think it would be a little quieter. There are quite a few trees in the park but not quite enough to offer much privacy between campsites. There were a few sites that looked private enough for us to think about coming back if we could reserve them. Sites D28, D26, D16, E,25, F46 and F50 looked OK. For Yurts most of them were OK but A8, A10, A12, A18, A19, A21, A23, and F36 looked the best (F36 had no porch cover though which is a nice thing to have)

In the park there is a day use parking area for the beach access, a visitor center, a garbage and recycling center, an amphitheater area for interpretive talks and a short interpretive hiking trail along a creek on the other side of a creek from the campground.

Oregon State parks are very nice and they have nicely lit bathroom areas with flush toilets and hot shower facilities.

There are racoons in this park so pay attention to the signs that tell you to pack away your food at night. We had a raccoon get into our ice chest in the middle of the night and steal our bean dip. At least they didn't take the beer.

The town of Newport is only a short distance away if you need any grocery shopping done or want to go to the movie theater.

The only reason a racoon wouldn't take the beer is they forgot the opener.... Sounds like a great place... thanks for giving the good site #'s. sylvia
