Would Not Stay Again Jun 27, 2010
We stayed at this hotel for the one night we had between Mexico and flying back home.
It is within walking distance of a harbor and also a shopping plaza with places to eat (although you had to cross a major street to get there).
The rooms were large enough for four girls and comfortable. They had tiny balconies.
There was a small pool but it was out front next to the street almost.
The continental breakfast had many options but the frozen foods did not come with directions so we had to guess on how long to put them in the microwave.
Since we arrived about two before check-in, the front desk had us put our bags in the breakfast room so we could go out and not have to sit in the lobby with our luggage. We are not sure if the room was locked at all times. (The front desk was less than helpful when we explained that three of us had had belongings disappear from our luggage.) Additionally, three members of our group came back two hours after we got into our rooms. When Ashley and I went to go get their bags, the cleaning ladies could not unlock the breakfast room door; they had to get maintenance to do it.
The elevators were extremely slow and were the only way up to your room. The steps were outside the building and could only be used to go down. Therefore, this is not a hotel for large groups. Even though Josh booked our rooms at the same time, we were spread out over three floors.
In the morning as we were packing up, the fire alarm went off. Our group headed outside along with a few other families. The front desk never left their post and then said nothing as we went to the elevator to go back up to our rooms even though the fire alarm was still going off. Apparently maintenance had been doing something and set it off.
When we were in the elevator, the couple with us said that at least the water was still running; apparently it had been turned off the day before for a little bit, no previous warning given.
I would not stay here again especially since there was another chain hotel across the parking lot.
