On our arrival to the hotel because of the bad weather the car park was thick with ice which wasn't that great but considering our shortage of grit what can you do LOL!!! Check-in was quick and easy then up to our rooms - really nice, clean and spacious. The fitness room was small but did have roughly 9 different machines.
My brothers, sisters and I decided to head into town to do some shopping to waste time before dinner. The hotel is only 5-10 mins away from the main shopping centre.
Honestly, I'm not sure if it was value for money as it was paid for by my dad but my step-mum insisted they got an excellent price. There were 20 of us staying there and we had booked the Oak Room for a family 70th a nice informal meal with lots of drink.
The choices for dinner were, chicken, salmon or a gosts cheese thingy and for desert, fruit salad, sticky toffee pudding or profiteroles. I had the chicken and profiteroles which were excellent.
The drinks were a bit on the pricey side but it depends what you are used to paying. And the fact that everything else was paid for it was that bad.
The bed was like sleeping in a cloud so comfy.
The staff were friendly so no complaints here.
One of our party were woken by a maid coming into their room so would suggest putting the do not disturp sign up if your wanting a long lie in.
