Best Western Prince Montmartre Paris Reviews
Convenient hotel with good service Jun 29, 2013
Best Western Prince Montmartre is located in the 18th arrondissement, just north of Montmatre and a 5 minutes walk from Jules Joffrin metro station. And a 10 minutes walk from Sacré-Coeur.
I arrived 3 hours before check-in time, but that was not a problem. The reception staff was very sweet, welcoming and helpful. And every one of them was fluent in English.
First I was given room 204. When I entered it, I realized that it was facing the front of the hotel and a busy street. I went back to the reception and asked if there would be a lot of traffic at night as well. The receptionist said yes and immediately asked if she could give me another room. I moved into 203.
The first room was slightly bigger and with a bigger bathroom, but I was happy with the smaller room facing a quiet courtyard. The hotel must have been recently renovated. It was decorated in turquoise and brown with a touch of beige. The room was tastefully decorated in turquoise and beige with a touch of brown. The hotel was most likely an old block of flats. The building was old, but well maintained. The elevator was bigger than in the typical French hotels. It fit more than one person with luggage. I couldn´t hear any noise from the adjoining rooms, but people talking in the hallway and walking in the squeaky old, wooden staircase were easy to hear.
The room was small, but convenient enough. The double bed was wonderful. I wish I could have taken it home. The wardrobe had an electronic safe. There were also room for a small desk and a chair, a flat screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The AC worked wonderfully. And so did the free wi-fi, a big plus in my book. If you don´t have your own computer, there was one guest PC with printer in the reception, for free use to hotel guests.
The bathroom and toilet were in two different rooms. Personally I prefer them together. The bathroom was decorated with white wall panels and was as clean as the room. There were also nice amenities, which were refilled every day. The water pressure was great and there was plenty of hot water.
Continental breakfast was not included and was an extra €10. It was nice, but simple. You can get a lovely baguette at the bakery nearby for less than half the price. The lounge/reception area also doubled as a breakfast room. There were a few chairs and tables outside in a little courtyard as well. The only irritating thing was that they often locked the front door, so you had to ring the doorbell to get in.
I found the location good, even though it´s not in the very centre of Paris. There are a lot of nice restaurants, cafés and a food market just around the corner. On my next visit to Paris I will most likely book at the Best Western Prince Montmartre again.
