Best Western Plus John Muir Inn Martinez Reviews
do not believe the reviews on hotel sites :) Nov 13, 2015
Hotels in downtown San Francisco will cost an arm and a leg, and for those who are on a budget, this is not a good news. However, if you are driving a car, a hotel that is a bit far from the city proper may not be a bad idea. That’s what we did the last time we were in San Francisco. I found Best Western in Martinez, California as the most reasonable hotel to stay. The town Martinez is thirty-six miles (or 58 km,) about 48 minutes on a 75/mph driving speed. Not bad, I think.
At 10ish nighttime, the town is already quiet, but the stores and some fast food restaurants surrounding the hotel are still open. The hotel is very easy to find, it is right on the exit ramp. Just make an immediate right, and in just a very few meters, the driveway to the hotel entrance is right there. We found a parking space right away, and at the back of the hotel are more spaces for parking.
A reserve-type person but has the sweetest smile greeted us as we entered the automatic door (a nice touch for those carrying heavy luggage!) She immediately checked us in and afterward, informed us about the inclusive hot breakfast, the schedule, and where the breakfast hall is.
The lobby has a homey atmosphere furnished with quite new furniture. A 24-hour coffee dispenser is available in the lobby. Also, a glass container for cold water with some lemon slices is ready for those who need to quench their thirst.
Our rooms are on the second floor of the building, so we used the elevator as we were quite tired. I reserved two full-size rooms with full-size bed on each. The rooms are clean. There’s the usual amenities – furniture, television set, microwave, refrigerator, and a lounging chair. The bed is comfortable to sleep on with lots of clean pillows and sheets.
The bathroom is clean and with enough towels. Some goodies are fix up at the sink counter top. Hot water in the shower head spouts strong pressure.
As far as the breakfast, we enjoyed some scrambled eggs, sausages, biscuits & gravy, some fried potatoes, bagels, waffles, muffins, fruits, coffee, fruit juices, etc.
Overall, Best Western Plus John Muir Inn is a pleasant hotel to stay – great service and value for what you pay. ~
