Las Mercedes was a pleasant surprise. It is directly across the street from the airport. Just grab your bags and dodge the traffic. This is not a high rise hotel. The rooms are in separate buildings. I have stayed here twice and had very different rooms. Both rooms were adequate for an overnight stay. The shower had cold water only, but heh! it felt good in the heat. I realize that my opinions may be a little off, as after the first stay here, I lived in a home in rural Nicaragua with no running water. The pool was great (post rural trip) and the dining room was adequate. The bar was nice. The price is right for a quick overnighter with easy access to the airport.
