Best Western Hotel Carlos V Madrid Reviews

Friendly staff, clean hotel and room, great location and overall pleasant experience. What more can I say? I'd really recommend this place for someone looking for a nice hotel, but nothing too "fancy". I loved that this hotel was located within walking distance of all the major attractions in Madrid. It's located right between the Puerta Del Sol and Callao Metro stations, and very near the main street, La Gran Via. On several occassions, after doing some shopping, we'd just take a quick walk back to the hotel and drop things off so as to not carry them around all day. The big department store, El Corte Ingles, is very near as well. So it does get a bit crowded, especially at night. But once inside the room, we never had a problem with any noise. We pretty much just needed the room to sleep and shower, so it was perfect. There's free wifi access in the rooms (you just have to ask them for the password), but we never tried it so I can't vouch for it. They do have a free computer down at the cafeteria area that you can use when it's open. The staff was very friendly. There's always someone at the front door to greet you, and at night it's locked so that not just anyone can walk in. We also had the "continental breakfast buffet" included in our plan. It had the basic stuff, some cereals, fruits, bacons, meats, cheeses, breads and pastries. A nice way to start the day without pigging out too much. lol The rooms had the basic stuff....tv, mini bar, phone, towels, soap/shampoo, laundry service, etc. Try not to use the minibar, and instead go over to the Mercado inside the La Corte Ingles. You can get much bigger drinks and snacks there for cheaper. :)
