Best Western Classic Villa Mozart Hotel Antwerp - Reviews - Antwerp

I had never planned to stay at this, or any other hotel during my one night stay in Antwerp. But due to unforeseen circumstances, me and another two TB's thought it best to find somewhere or we were pretty sure we wouldn't actually be able to get any sleep at all.

After much searching, we came across the Hotel Villa Mozart. It's located right opposite the big cathedral in the centre of town. We explained our predicament but the manager said he only had one double room left at 130 euros. At this point it was getting a bit late and he said he could put an extra bed in the room for no extra charge. The only problem was that this room had been reserved and he was still waiting for the people to turn up. If no one had come forward by midnight, the room was ours. We swapped phone numbers and me and the girls went back to the bar.

I got a phone call from the manager just after midnight and he confirmed our booking. I said we would be out for another couple of hours and he told me not to worry and go out and enjoy Antwerp. What a nice man.

A couple of hours later the three of us turned up with our bags only to be told that they didn't have any spare beds but that he would knock 30 euros off the rate and throw in a bottle of bubbly for breakfast. Good enough for us!!

We had a room on the top floor. It wasn't very big but it was very clean and had a very comfy bed. The thing that impressed me the most was the view from the huge windows. The room over looked the square and in the morning I sat and watched all the cafes setting up for the day.

All three of us had a good nights sleep and were looking forward to our free breakfast. It was the usual buffet thing but it had lots to choose from and all of us stuffed our faces as well as polishing off that bottle of "champagne".

After we paid the bill they let us put all our bags in the lounge so we didn't have to carry them around all day.

All in all, a great stay and everybody we spoke to were friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this place. It's not anything flashy but location and service made up for that.
