Best Western Carib Beach Resort

I flew into St. Thomas, USVI for a sailing trip. I arrived a day early and wanted to find the least expensive hotel possible without getting a roach motel. Since I had never been to the island before I chose a place near Charlotte Amalie which is the main city in St. Thomas. The Best Western Carib Beach Resort was literally right across the street from the airport, but about a five minute cab ride to the city. There were not any restaurants or shops, aside from the hotel restaurant, within walking distance. It was located right on the water so I had a beautiful view from my cottage unit, but since it's an island a beautiful view isn't hard to come by. While it was cheaper than the other places listed on travelocity.com, I could have found something right in the heart of the city for less if I had searched a little bit more.

The hotel itself was nice, but it had that older hotel quality of being nice but close to going downhill. I cant think of any reason to stay at this hotel unless if you were a pilot stopping in for the night and wanted to stay close to the airport.
