Clean, but far from city center Jan 24, 2011
The twin share room was ideal for roommates, with the bed's abuting one and other, headboard to headboard with a nice partition in the middle, providing for some privacy.

Far from town Mar 15, 2010
Did you ever get the feeling you were lost amongst a herd of sheep? This tourist bedding spot brought about a slight feeling of dread. A cavernous sparse hall on the outskirts of town greets you as if you are walking into an old YMCA building. Lots of tourists chattering loudly coming and going. The building has the odd government office feeling. I came to check in and was asked to wait for a room. Odd, this was late afternoon surely the rooms were ready for the next guests checking in. The flock of girls at the reception area bustled and chirped at folks as they checked out and hassled with those who did not have money to pay or expected other service - i.e. breakfast. I was called over to get check into my room got my key and took the elevator up. The room looked so nice. Fairly new remodeling, clean bathroom in good shape. I stayed for a couple of days and right away I began to discover the furniture was all falling apart. I looked pretty new but had missing knobs and handles. Drawers and doors were clumsy and misaligned. Breakfast was a huge cattle call buffet. I could not stand the smell so I went out to the local shopping center just a few yards away. That was fun. Real life in an Amsterdam neighborhood. That was the best part of the Blue square. You really have to know the tram system to stay out here. If you want to see the historic parts of the city get ready for plenty of time riding the trams.

Affordable, clean and great breakfast. Dec 20, 2009
Great Hotel in Amsterdam and will definitely stay there again! We booked 2 triple rooms and no-one had been there before but we managed to find this great hotel. It’s a bit ‘off the main street’ but the trams & buses are regular so it’s only 20 mins into town. Rooms are clean, nice flat screen TV and bathroom is clean & modern. The staff are real helpful and chilled, there is a small late night bar and someone is always on reception to help & advise so you get the very best out of Amsterdam! The breakfast is included and it’s great, ‘all you can eat’ with a wide variety of breakfast choices with juice and good (strong, decent) coffee!! You can buy your 24, 48 or 72 public transport tickets from reception & they have loads of tips and advice on sightseeing. If you want a clean, affordable hotel book a few nights here!

Blue Square Hotel Jul 22, 2009
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is quite good, as there is a bus stop right outside. Surrounding the hotel, there are a few restaurants, a grocery store, and a little convenience store. The reception, and the rest of the staff, were fantastic. The hotel is big, and immaculately clean. The dining hall was big, and offered great breakfasts and a buffet dinner. The room was average size, comfortable, and clean. The tour ended in Amsterdam, but I was staying an extra night, and the reception had no problem in giving me the same room in order not to have to check out, then wait two hours to check in again, waiting around with all my luggage. They also had no problem in hiring the taxi service to take me to the airport the next morning at 7AM. I would highly recommend this hotel.
