Cozy hotel on the Beach Jan 10, 2009
This is my first hotel review, so hope I'm doing this right. :-)
I stayed at the Best Western Blue Sea Lodge for one night (Jan 2009) and really loved it. It was very cozy and well appointed for an older, beachfront hotel. The room was large, bathroom was very large and it had a very comfortable bed. I was really impressed with how clean it was as well. The average rate for Blue Sea Lodge is around $125-$140 per night depending on the room type and day of week, but I got it for $50 on Priceline.com for 2 queen standard room, which was a great deal in my opinion. The Blue Sea Lodge is right on Pacific Beach in San Diego and you can see amazing sunsets at night and watch the surfers ride the waves in the morning. There are dozens of shops and restaurants within a few steps in any direction. There is a little cafe onsite but not a restaurant, although one is not needed with the availability of so many others nearby. Free internet access is available in the lobby, but there are no amenities such as gym, etc., as this is a smaller and older hotel. The staff was extremely friendly, laid back, and helpful.
