Berwick-Upon-Tweed Vacation Guide
Berwick-upon-Tweed is the northernmost town in England and only 2.5 miles from the Scottish/English Border, though it was originally part of Scotland - it has passed hands back and forth between Scotland and England several times since the 12th century. Though it is now classed as English with the locals speaking a strange dialect mixed between Scottish and Geordie! The towns football team Berwick Rangers FC play in the Scottish football league not the English!
The town has a long and interesting history which is worth getting to know before you head down before you visit its many historical attractions (Berwick Barracks, defensive wall, bridges etc).
The town boasts a great market, shops, pubs and 2 small night clubs.
