Amazing resort Dec 31, 2014
This resort is massive with a wide array of room options. I have the cheaper option, a rainforest chalet, that is private and its own entity on stilts. There are the over the water bungalows available. I'm room 3249, pretty much furthest from the lobby and a 10 min walk at a good pace, or a few minute shuttle ride. My chalet is fantastic, big bed, lots of pillows. Nice bathroom with shower. Air conditioning and fan option in my room. Minibar and amenities include shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, comb, razor, shower gel, hair dryer, iron, safety deposit box , etc. I have a balcony with seating area as well. One does have to beware the monkeys in the area though. Laundry service is available though I did not use.

There is a shuttle system where you can dial 4 for pickup to other area, or at the lobby, at the shuttle stand. Wait time I have found anywhere from 5-15 mins the times I did take it.

There is a spa which I didn't use. There is a couple of smaller pools and a bigger pool along with a towel service, all clean, and a swim up pool bar. The beach is beautiful white soft sand with lots of seating areas. Even showing up after lunch there were plenty of loungers to be had.

Restaurants include a Thai food restaurant, Malaysian/international, canton/Szechuan, beach restaurant, and Japanese restaurant. There is also the swim up bar , sports bar, boat house bar, and lobby bar/lounge with live entertainment. The food was decent, but I was a bit disappointed hat he indian or Malay dishes weren't as spicy as they should have been, like the curry chicken was not very spicy at all.

There is a wide array of water sports available for a fee as well as activities scheduled throughout the day. A travel and tourism office is located near the lobby and day excursion /tours desk in the lobby.

The resort is very closely located to the cable car and oriental village about 20 minute walk from the lobby. It is however remote, not really close to anything else. Cenang beach is about a 20-30 min taxi drive away. Also the resort is mostly aimed for couples and a few families. If you are travelling solo, plan on a lot of alone time as it's not really a place to meet people. It's very low key laid back place.

I do recommend this resort, it's gorgeous as is the beach. However if you are travelling alone and are a bit of a social butterfly like me, you might be better of locating yourself at Cenang beach instead. As a couple or a family, I would very highly recommend this resort!

Great beach resort in Langkawi May 08, 2011
I'm not a fan of the Berjaya label, per se, but this resort was quite unique. We stayed in a kampong style house (aka chalet) on the mountainside overlooking the sea. was supposed to be overlooking the sea according to the information available on the resort...but the forest had long since grown and closed up the view. Still, it felt like being in the rainforest. There are monkey abound and a regular shuttle picks up guests to bring them to the lobby or back to their chalets. Few would be brave enough to walk back to their chalets after dark! The Thai restaurant at the end of the pier was nice. The swimming pool area was comfortable too. Although, there was a large monitor lizard hiding in the bushes just next to the pool...a bit scary! Room service is quick and delicious and the room itself is cozy. The restaurants around the resort stay open till around 10pm but room service is 24 hours. The resort also uses a deposit payment system, where you pay RM200 per person at check-in, then just sign for everything you wish to purchase, ranging from meals to spa treatments. This comes in very handy at the sunken pool bar where you don't normally have your wallet in your pocket. And the private beach is a great place to chill out and lie on the reclining chairs...or even have a seaside massage. I'd stay here again.

excellent Mar 07, 2011
I stayed 5 night at berjaya, my chalet was in jungle with sea view and a few distance to hotel lobby,i saw other parts of island but without a doubt this resort was probably one of the best. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful ,there are 5 restaurants ,so lots of choice. .The oriental village is just 5 min walk from the hotel , you can buy and eat there, also cable car car station is here , just 15 min to air port, altogether this hotel is excellent, and very better than other expensive hotels nearby.

Secluded Beach... Apr 05, 2010
I love the fact that the resort is rather secluded as I was looking for some real quiet time...

It is a huge resort.. there are buggies bringing you everywhere as the hill chalets (I am staying in one of these) are far far away from both the beach and the lobby..

Room is fantastic.. views are great .. there are some friendly neighbours (monkeys!)

Breakfast is average and for dinners, we head out as it is not difficult to find food ...

The beach is good enough to give us some seclusion from the hustle and bustle of other beaches and since we were there at offpeak, the beach was practically empty..

Overall, the resort fulfilled my aim to have a wellrested beach break... :)
Look at that beach!!!
