Bergey's Dairy Farm is now Brookdale Farm for Pick-Your-Own Strawberries Jun 08, 2008

I used to pass by the Bergey's Dairy Farm daily on my way to work and we decided a romantic day would include Pick-Your-Own Strawberries at the the new Brookdale Farm. The strawberry fields are well-maintained and irrigated. They had baskets to borrow or purchase for a minimal fee and the rates were reasonable after picking your basket full of beautiful delicious strawberries!

The roadside stand also had some homemade goods for sale, so we also purchased some pineapple salsa which turned out to be very good!

They also have a pumpkin patch to pick your own pumpkins in the Fall.

This was a fun event near our home in Chesapeake, VA...recommended for romance or family outings in the area!

Hello everyone. Bergey's Dairy is now Bergey's Breadbasket. The number and web site is Brookdale Farm a separate farming operation that does u-pick strawberries, a summer farm stand and a u-pick pumpkin patch.

Apparently, the Bergey's Dairy Farm is out of business, but the BROOKDALE FARM for strawberry and pumpkin picking is just a 1/4 mile away.

Directions: 1/4 mile west of the former Bergey's Dairy Farm. From Battlefield Blvd go east on Mt Pleasant Rd approximately 5 3/4 miles. Look for sign on right. Also, 3 miles past the Intracoastal Waterway from the Virginia Beach Municiple Center.
