Bergen Card Reviews
Great value for your money Jul 06, 2012
Explore Bergen, the City of Culture, practical and cheaper with the Bergen Card! This advertisement attracted our eyes and we thought we give it a try.
With your Bergen Card, you can enjoy free bus travel within the city limits, free admittance to most museums and attractions and discounts on a variety of cultural and sightseeing attractions and parking.
There are 2 cards available. Either the 24 hours (adults NOK 200 / children NOK 75) or the 48 hours (adults NOK 260 / children NOK 100) valid card.
Because the campground was 16 km outside Bergen city center we were reliant on the public transport often. Some of the museums we wanted to visit were free also. Therefore we checked out what to do and what to see and compared it to what we have to pay without the card and it was a good deal for us to buy it. We would love to have visited more museums but time was too short to see it all and having a dog with us didn't make it more easy ;) We had to find dog-friendly places ;)
You can buy the Bergen Card at several places. We bought ours at Bratland Camping and I assume all 3 campgrounds in Bergen sell it. You can buy it also at the tourist information at the Bergen City Center (fish market), The railway station, some hotels and also Montana Youth Hostel and the Bergen Express Boat Terminal.
If you wanna learn more about the benefits check out this website: http://www.visitbergen.com/Bergen/Dokumenter/Om%20oss/Publikasjoner/2011/Bergenskort%20folder.pdf
There are too many to list ;)
If you own the Camping Key Europe (European camping card) you get a 20% discount on the Bergen Card.
All in all I can recommend the Bergen Card if you stay in the city for some days.
