Beresford Hotel Dublin Reviews
Solid, if unspectacular Oct 24, 2016
Located in Dublin’s Docklands district, the biggest draw of this Hotel is its location. Away from the lively Temple Bar/Grafton Street area, yet within walking distance of them, it has a tram stop and the central bus station – useful for day trips or connections to other destinations in Ireland – right on its doorstep. There’s even the Garda (police) station just across the road, should the worst happen and you need their help!
Otherwise, there’s not really much I can say that’s either glowingly positive or searingly negative about this place…well, other than their baffling and annoying insistence on charging a 150 Euro ‘security deposit’ on top of your actual room rate. I know they’re not the only place in the world to do this, but that doesn’t stop it being a pain…especially as they only accept credit, and not debit, cards for it.
The décor of the hotel is perfectly functional and serviceable, but pretty nondescript. The rooms are spacious enough and comfortable, with all the usual trappings, and the breakfast (plus dinner, should you choose to have it) will fill your belly without giving you a fine-dining experience!
Which is this place summarised really – does the job, but nothing special.
