Berat Backpackers

Berat Backpackers is starting its first full season this year. It is the first of its kind in the city until now you would have to stay at one of the more upscale hotels in the city. It is located in the old town in the Gorica district and is only a short walk away from the bus station in the new part of town. The place is in an old town house and it only open about a week before I got there - hence there were still some details which needed to be finished before the summer season starts.

When I got there a couple of men were hanging around because they had just sown the grass in the garden. But the location is really nice in the old town with a nice little outdoor terrace and a small garden where you can stay and enjoy the spring sunshine. During the summer time the wines will get their leaves and create shade to avoid the summer sun.

The rooms are upstairs with one a bit bigger than the two others which also got a really nice old wooden sealing. It also got a bit of a view over the river and the Mangalem district of the city. Down in the basement there is gonna be a computer room with internet connection and a self service bar but it was not up and running when I visited. There is a little kitchen where you can cook if you like and there is breakfast in the morning.
