Bendigo Accommodation Reviews

Aug 19, 2007
There are many places to stay in Bendigo. Be aware that during certain times of the year, accommodation will be difficult to obtain; like two weeks from Easter, early November when the local big horse race is on and the international swap meet and also in October there is the annual show, but that is mainly for the attraction of the locals.

There are at least four caravan parks and of those I would probably recommend the "Big 4 Holiday Park" in Ascot and the "Gold Nugget Caravan Park" in Epsom which are both on the north end of town or the "Robinley Caravan Park" in Maiden Gully to the west of the town. "Central Caravan Park" is closest in town, but has been subject to police attention often over the past years. The "A-Line Holiday Park" on the south end of Bendigo is okay too.

There are too many motels to mention, but you should have no problems finding a nice room for a reasonable motel price.

As far as the backpackers accommodation is concerned, I have stayed in many around the world and the local one probably is no worse than any other, but be advised that some local undesirables have been known to frequent the establishment and cause problems. Just take the usual precautions.

You can spend a lot of money if you wish for accommodation, like staying at "The All Seasons Motel" in McIvor Rd, being a place that even the Prime Minister has stayed at. There as some nice bed & breakfasts around too.

All the accommodation details can be found at the website I have attached.
