Walk on the top from Pitlochry - see Scottish Highlands from the top Nov 29, 2012
Starting the walk from Pitlochry in Perthshire is the best as there's a railway station there. You are in the centre of Highlands. Go and pass a beautiful village called Moulin and start your hillwalking. After about 30 min. from Moulin you reach a small stream and this is the point, where the views and paths start. You continue to the loch (lake) under Ben Vrackie called Loch a'Choire and the adventure starts - you've got about 45 - 60 min. steep walk to the summit of Ben Vrackie. The summit is 841 m (2759 feet) high and you are presented by amazing scenery on the top for your efforts. I was on the top already at least 3 times and consider this walk as a great tip for even a day trip. You can also spend some time in Pitlochry, as there's more walks in the vicinity of the town available there. Take a good equipment, shoes not to have blisters :-) and good mood with you and check the weather forecast, before you go...
