Belushi's Bar Amsterdam Reviews
Belushi's Mar 08, 2008
Belushi's (I'm reasonably sure that's what it's called) is the bar that is downstairs from St Christopher's Hostel. It is a nice, cool, bar, with a great Indie Soundtrack.
The drinks were very cheap - there were a lot of two for one deals, and the house red was really nice. It did feel funny sitting in what it very much a spirits and beer bar drinking wine, but hey, you should know me by now. When I did switch to whisky and coke, the measures were genorous to the point that spotting the coke was pretty tricky.
The decor is fun, with loads of street arty edges, and the seats are comfy. There was a resident drunk but the very friendly bar staff cut him off when he got rowdy. Ths staff were great, really fun. And it has one of the best Indie playlists of any bar I've been in anywhere.
You are not going to get any feel of authentic Netherlands in here - it is totally a backpacker/ student hang out, and you could be anywhere in Europe. But sometimes, that isn't the worst thing. I may well go back sometime...
